Sin Is The Problem

While many philosophies blame ignorance, inequality, or environment for the world's suffering, the Bible identifies the root cause clearly: **sin**. Sin is the central problem that corrupts human hearts, societies, and even creation itself.

What Is Sin?

Sin is rebellion against God’s will. It is more than breaking rules — it is a condition of the heart that resists the truth, loves darkness, and leads to death.

  • “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” (John 8:34)
  • “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
  • “The wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)

Sin Is the Root Problem

It corrupts human nature

  • The heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9)
  • People love darkness rather than light (John 3:19)

It damages human relationships

  • Brings envy, violence, injustice (Genesis 4, Romans 1)
  • Tears down families, nations, and cultures

It separates us from God

  • “Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.” (Isaiah 59:2)

It affects creation itself

  • “The creation was subjected to futility...” (Romans 8:20–22)

The Law Could Not Fix It

God gave the Torah to define sin and point the way to righteousness, but it could not cure the human heart.

  • “For what the law was powerless to do... God did by sending His own Son...” (Romans 8:3)
  • “It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.” (Hebrews 10:4)

Why Jesus Came

Jesus did not come merely to teach or lead — He came to deal with sin at its core:

  • To bear our sins (1 Peter 2:24)
  • To destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8)
  • To make new hearts and a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)

> “You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)

Without Dealing With Sin, Nothing Else Works

Any attempt to build justice, peace, or unity **without addressing sin** is temporary and ultimately doomed.

  • Democracy without virtue collapses
  • Education without morality empowers evil
  • Freedom without righteousness becomes rebellion

Only Christ Can Cure Sin

Jesus came to:

  • Forgive sin
  • Cleanse the conscience
  • Break sin’s power
  • Fill us with the Holy Spirit

He did not come to manage symptoms — but to heal the disease.

Summary

Sin is the disease behind all human suffering. Politics, education, and systems cannot fix it. Only through Jesus — who deals with sin through the cross and gives new life through the Spirit — can humanity be truly restored.
